Have had the problem since truck was purchased few months back... when filling the front tank upon reaching full fuel spills down on the ground. Found that there is a barb for a fuel line on the neck of the front tank for some type of return line maybe? However on my truck there is no line nor any kind of cap. I have traced the lines from the other tank don't think I have any loose or unconnected lines. Also rear tank does not seem to have anything similar. What should be hooked to this? Maybe a line to a charcoal canester or something?
There should be a vent line, about 3/4" size, going from the rollover valve on the top of the tank to a connection above the rubber hose, on the filler neck itself. Does it have the factory bed on it still, or is the toolbox in the bed?
still factory bed... So there should be a rubber hose going from that barb to a connection on the top of the front tank? What does this serve and why does the back tank not have it? Do I need to pull the bed to re-connect this? I assume this is affecting how the tank pressurizes? Thanks for the help.
Would really like to get this fixed as I'm not using the front tank because of this... Any idea of if I'll need to pull the bed? Also, just so I understand; why does the back tank not have a similar line? And with EFI doesn't the whole tank pressurize?
The tank doesn't pressurize, there is a pump in there that pushes fuel out under pressure. There are a few guys on here who are better with newer stuff, hopefully they will post up shortly.
