Pictures / Update 1957 F-350
I have loaded some pictures (low res) to my gallery. I'll see about some better ones in the future.
I recently uncovered it after letting it sit for 5+ years.
The throttle body was a little bit stuck, but what a great thing WD-40 is. The choke cable still seems seized, but I can adjust the control at the carburator.
Turns over OK, but no spark - next task :-)

Axle ratio is 5.14-1
4 speed STD
WB 130
Max GVW 9800 lbs

I had a 57 Sedan CV Convertable with the same engine setup. You got to love the Exhaust Crossover pipe when it comes to working on the engine.
I like the older trucks. The metal was thick enough the rust was always sureface rust.
So what are your near future plans for it.

I think it is a 272??? This guess is based on info in the 1957 shop manual that I have.
Not sure yet. I have requested info from Ford of Canada to see if they can help decipher my VIN.

No real project in mind. Get it running, replace/repair the clutch master cylinder and then go from there. Just a chance to tinker...

Not sure where the block numbers are on this one, but that would tell you. On something that old, you can not be sure it is original engine.
If you posted the numbers, then a manual would tell us what one you have.

Won't have a chance to look at the block for a couple of days. I am pretty sure it is original. My grandfather was the original buyer and did not mention replacing the engine.
He did mention the fan going through the hood, the piece of firewood going through the back window, etc :-)

I can't tell from the pictures, but I have heard that some of the late 50's F350's offered 9 ft beds is this one of them? I just think it would be cool to have one of the old beasts.
