54 Indicator Mounting
I bought a new repro indicator switch but it dosen't fit 
It seems that at some time in the life of my truck a previous owner fitted a switch and mechanism from a different vehicle
How was the original switch mounted to the column ?
has anyone got a picture of the mounting boss on the column ?

The original switch is mounted internally to the column with only the arm sticking out. I suspect that you may have a truck that did not come standard with turn signals and either a dealer or a previous owner installed. Best bet would be to look in the shop manual for part numbers- if nothing there, an American junk yard would likely have what your looking for if you want to go with an original set-up.
