Anyone ever heard of these magnets that you put on your fuel line and air intake lines that are supposed to give you 25% better fuel economy? A guy I work with put them on his Tacoma the other day he says he feels more power but hasn't had time to check his millage yet. I guess the way they work is they polarize your fuel and air opposite making them attract together. He really could not explain it very well. Would make sense but sounds kinda sketchy to me. Any thoughts on the matter?
Back in the 70's when gas went so high, the "cow" magnets were being used for the same gas mileage clain. It did not work then and I don't think it's going to work this tine around, but the makes of magnets, now I bet bet they will tell you differant.
This is one oft the more outrageous snake oils since magnetic field has no measurable effect whatsoever on liguid gasoline, meaning even the theory behind it is broken, or doesn't exist. Not that they are any better, or work with an EFI car at all, but at least some of the other gadgets such as the vortex, or throttle body spacer have a more or less correct theory behind them.
popular mechanics just tested a bunch of the different gas mileage products to include this one- current issue- they all seemed to work very well...at seperating fools from their money. Now some of them will advdrtise using.."as seen in popular mechanics magazine." thats what they prophetised anyway.
