I need help. I have narrowed it down to 2 trucks: Both 4WD, both Crew Cab. The first is a 99 with 7.3 L, XLT, 57000 miles and the maintenence records are recorded by the same person until 40,000 mile service. Only problem is that it pulls to the right a bit.Asking 23,000. 2nd truck is a 2003 6.0, Lariat 90,000 miles for 24,900. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
My 2 cents worth says take the '99. A $100 front end alignment may be all that it needs. Seems a little high priced though.( High retail BB is 21,800) But the 6.0 s are nothing but problems. Some of our work trucks are into thier 4th engine and none have over 50k on them.
Thanks for all of the feedback. Unfortunately, due to rising gas prices, the trade in value for my expedition is roughly 1/2 of what I owe. That's just too much to stomach when my expedition is a great vehicle. Probably going to sell the truck outright, then start looking for a diesel. Thanks for all of the advice. As a side note, I posted this same thread on the 6.0 forum. Everyone on that side said to go with the 6.0. It does appear to me that the 6.0 had a some problems in 03. I am not sure about 04. I am kind of sold on the 7.3 because of lower price and my father-in-law has one with 625,000 miles and no major engine work. Once again, thank you for the advice.
