My g/f just stopped at a convenience store and was told that fuel/gas prices will jump 30-40 cents in the morning. They're blaming it on this hurricane.
Heard that prices were gonna go up by tomorrow here in NC too, so we tanked up all the vehicles tonight. We got diesel for $2.499 at one place and found gas for the same price at another place. $65 for about 3/4 tank in my F-350, $24 more for a little over 1/2 a tank in the Marquis, and $15 more in the lawn mower can. Oh yeah....the wife filled up her Explorer too, but I am not sure how much it was. Whatever it was, we went way over the century mark today. If the price DOESN'T go up now, I'm gonna be even more pi$$ed!! Boy they can always find some reason for those prices to go up, can't they? Does anyone know what holiday week-end this is gonna be? 'Nuff said.........
Question, so how is it that the fuel already in the storage tanks at the stations, which has already been bought and refined at price X, is going to jump up to price Y based on the jump in the price of oil??? I know it's economics and accounting, but really? Does that make sense? Nope.

Fuel sells at the market rate no matter what can it comes out of, refinery or station. Kind of like buying gold. Would you sell your ounze of gold for the same money you paid for it even if the market price was $50 dollars an ounze higher?
Man I wish i had an ounze of gold. I'd sell it just to fill up my tank.
