Last night I drove my 7.3 02 F350 for the first time with the gauges installed and I jumped on it a few times and when I got where I was going the inner fender well on the drivers side was coated with fluid. It's leaking from the high pressure fitting from the pump to the hydroboost, so I pulled it apart and there is a nylon washer that I could not get on a Sunday. I made one out of a drain plug washer (harder than it sounds) but when I got it back together I noticed that the line moves when the wheels are moving. It seems odd to me that there is movement every time I moved the wheel so has anyone else noticed this? Just for reference it's got 285's on it with a level kit.
I've never noticed that. Aircraft hydraulic lines move all the time when the pressure hit them. I wouldn't worry too much as long as it isn't leaking and the movement doesn't cause it to rub/chaff on anything.
Almost every hydrulic line I've ever seen on any equipment moves/jumps when preasure is applied. I've never watched my PS hose, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I guess I was not clear with what I thought was the issue. What was happening is that the line was moving at the fitting, rotating the seat at the pump. I could not get a nylon washer and the one I made was weeping so I had to buy a new hose for $50 and the hose part still moves but not anywhere near what it was with the homemade washer and the seat area seems to be staying put, so I think the washer was creating the problem.
