MTX Thunderform is a execellent choice for an under the rear seat sub.

Check out ebay to see all of the different types and models of subs that are available.

I've seen where you can't fold the back seat down on certain subs. Is that true of the MTX?

I built a sub box that holds the same MTX 10" speaker as the expensive thunderform box. It fits nicely under the 60 seat and sounds as good as any other mass produced sub. Put the amplifier behind the rear seat panel. Visit my web page at http://www.geocities.com/tony_cricco/techie.html . Scroll to the bottom. You'll see the pictures of the box and how it was installed.

the question i would ask is how much bass do you want? a 8 would be easier to install and build a box. if you want a lot of bass. i have built a box for three tens under the seat. i built a new bench seat for the top. so it is only limited by what you are willing to do.

Hey, could you post the dimentions of the box? And what is the max mounting depth?

Dimensions? I just used a piece of cardboard and kept trimming it until it fit under the seat. Then I made the box as long as the underside of the 60 seat. Use the same MTX 10' speaker as the one in their box. The magnet will almost hit the top of the box and there will be about 1-1/2 inch of space on the bottom for the speaker to downfire. Try measuring the same locations of your seat with the general location of where the box is placed in the picture on my web page and I think, with a little math, you can accurately scale it.

You can also check www.crutchfield.com
They have em made for specific vehicles so you don't lose the back seat option.

So does anyone have an MTX sub box installed? That's all Crutchfield shows for the SCrews. There are three grey ones for sale right now. I would just like to hear from someone if you can easily access the back compartment with this sub installed. I'd hate to have to pull it out all the time to get back there.

With mine you can still swing the seat down, but not all the way. However, I can still get to the rear compartment easily.

So now for me it begs the question if I build one, or just get an MTX. I have a set of old Kicker 10" subs I could use. But they are 15 years old. No tears, but I'm guessing the paper type will have a finite life.
