I posted this reply in a thread but thought I may get a better response making a new topic:
A few months ago, I installed the Daystar spacers on my 2WD '04 SCrew. I LOVE the front end height now, but now the front looks slightly higher than the rear, which I DON'T like. I'd like to have the rear a similar height as the 4WD model. I understand that the rear will be considerably higher again and that will defeat the purpose of my leveling kit. I just like the stance of the stock 4WD. My question is what makes the stock 4WD so much higher than the stock 2WD in the rear? What about in the front? Springs? Blocks? Is this an easy swap? Where can I find the parts?
(I know, I know I should have just bought the 4WD instead, but it's too late for that now .)
The 4x4s have an ~ 2" cast iron block between the axle and the spring. You may be able to find someone on this board who would be willing to sell or donate the blocks and longer u-bolts to you.
So would getting the additional 2" height that the 4x4 has over the 4x2 simply be a matter of acquiring these blocks and u-bolts? Is that all? I know a bunch of us 4x2 forum guys would jump at the chance if that's all it took.
That is all it takes. I have just purchased a set. They simply install between the leaf spring and the part?? that is welded to the axle. I am also installing the autospring 2.5" in hopes of getting three 3" of lift up front. This would leave the front about 1.5" lower than the rear(mine is now 2.5" lower in the front). I guess you could grind the blocks down to get the truck level, but I personally think that trucks that are completely level look nose high.

Where did you buy them? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
I need these!!! How hard of an install? Honestly, I'm thinking I would have to have my dealership or local 4x4 shop handle it. Wonder if one of my 4x4 shops would have similar blocks available ... or would I need to go "stock?"

Many of these blocks are universal and can fit many vehicles; check with your local 4x shop.
I believe these are very easy to install; thay are sandwiched between your leaf spring and axle. With an impact wrech and a pair of extra hands, I do not see why you could not get it done in an hour or so. I am getting a local shop to install the rear blocks and autospring for $100.
Installation should be as easy as taking them out which was less than an hour.
Jack up the rear of the truck high enough to get a couple inches of air under the tire. Put the truck frame on stands. Put your jack under the axle close to one side's spring.
Unbolt the ubolt nuts and drop the axle enough to install the block between axle and spring. Jack the axle back up and make sure all the "pins" line up, put the longer ubolts on and tighten snug. Do the other side. I pushed and pulled on the axle to make sure everything was in place and then dropped it on the ground. Torque the nuts on the ubolts (I THINK it was 85ft lbs).
One other thing is before starting, find a wall, garage door etc and mark with tape, spray paint, whatever where you headlights and fog lights hit. You will need to readjust the lights after the install.
you will have to buy the factory blocks right now, fabtech and pro comp do not sell them as of now. they will be selling them soon though, they already have part numbers, but they are 4" blocks............................
junk yard is your best bet save your self some money. drop by your ford dealer and take a look at a 4x4 i took them out on mine had to put the longer u-bolts in easy job. nothing wrong with used in this case its just 4 u-bolts and 2 metal blocks and 4 nuts
