I took my leaking radiator to a rad shop and it looks like I need a recore. The issue is that I have plans to swap a 312 y-block in place of my H series I6. I don't want to recore the radiator twice. What is the flow rate on a 312 versus the H-series 226 I6.
The radiator shop can relocate hose connections for your Y. I cant answer your question directly, but the only difference between the flathead V8 radiators and the I6 was hose connections. Too bad you arent ready for the swap now, because a nice new aluminum radiator isnt that much more expensive than what you are getting ready to do.
I would be very surprised if your I6 rad wasnt up to the task of the 312.
When I first started my project a long time ago, I had a 46 radiator recored and the hose connections relocated for the 292. It cost about $250. Sure wish I had gone the aluminum route. The 46 rad works fine, but the new unit would have looked better and been a lot lighter.
