shoulder belts in my '66

What is the best source for shoulder belts in a '66 F250?

Is there a bolt-in (almost) from a later year, or is a set from JC Whitney the way to go?

After removing my hideous "headliner", I see that there is a wrap-around corner support just above the seat back from the window around to the rear door jamb that is perfect for attaching a shoulder harness anchor.

Opinions?

I got mine from andover restraints inc.I got the retractable retrofit belts.Installed the anchor right where you say. They have a metal backing plate to use behind the support.Had to work a bit to get tha lower anchor to bolt up right.Prolly not as good as a factory job but will keep me off of the steering wheel in an accident.Good luck.

I also use belts from andover restraints, but I chose the non-retractables.

I strongly suggest that the corner sheetmetal be supplemented before attaching a seat belt anchor to it. That sheetmetal is just lightly welded, and not all that heavy. It looks like force in a crash impact would yank it right out.

In my conversion, I got some 3/32" rolled steel plates made up from cardboard patterns to put behind those corners. The added plates are large enough so the edges fit behind the door frame edge and the window frame edge. I installed with a number of sheetmetal screws; others have welded theirs in.

Then, behind the newly beefed-up corner metal, put your plate steel anchors from andover. As I recall, they're something like 4x2".

If you do a search on the forum, you may be able to find my and other postings describing all this in detail. Good luck.

I was going to go that route until I found a set of front seats from an 01 f150. The belts are made into frame. You must bolt them to the floor very securely because the frame is very heavy and beefed up to take any force
generated in a wreck.
