Aod

I Recently Recived An Aod That I Am Planning To Install In To My 68 Stepside, Dose Any Know , What Parts I Can Re Use Or Have To Get New, Like The Coulmn Shifter And The Flex Plate, Any Advice Or Suggestions Would Be Much Appreaciated Thx

You should be able to reuse your flexplate, but possibly plan on modifying your rear tranny mount, cooling lines, and shift linkage. You may possibly have to have a different starter, but I'm not real familiar with small blocks. Mabye even some driveshaft work, too.

If you do a search on AOD in this forum you will find a wealth of info on this installation. Note that there are many combinations of 302 and 351 flex plates that will bolt together but not work because of vibration. Also I believe there are 2 different diameters of flex plates too to add to the puzzle.

Tyler, I am pretty sure the AOD uses a Flexplate different from other automatics. You will need a special tv cable to run it as well.

Good luck on finding the parts.
