everytime i take off in my 95 Ranger, the Yellow ABS light kicks on and then the red parking brake light flashes a few times... I realized this was a fault that was being stored, and began the treacherous hunt for the RABS test connector as Haynes calls it... from the pictures i saw in the manual, it's a connector that is attached to the front of the under-hood fuse panel with an orange/black wire. There are two connectors on the fuse panel, however none of them have an orange/black wire... and none of them give me the flash code... can anyone help me as to the reason this light is on and where the location of the connector is... thanks
Well now that the system has your attention, LOL, you need to find out WHY the brake fluid level was low, as the brake system is a closed one & fluid isn't normally consumed.
Level can drop from wear to the pads or shoes or from a leak in the system, so both causes need to be checked out.
All that said, has the brake fluid been changed lately, say in the last 2-3 years????
If not, it's past due for a flush.
Fresh brakefluid is sort of a pet peve of pawpaw's, as it's one of those "forgotten" fluids!!!!
I do mine every two years with MotorCraft fluid, it's good stuff & your system will love you for it!!!!
