4x4 T-case intake = water?

4x4 T-case intake = water?
93 5.8 full auto minus hubs 
I read in another post about a hose above the t case and how it would be a bad idea to get it below water. well I was on some ice in a field and I went through about 18 to 24 inches. the front was up on ice and the tailgate was in the water and mud. best guess is the hose got wet. I had just got the motor running on the t case after the plastic bumper went. so I took that apart again and rebuilt it after a good cleaning. still nothing. got a system ok code from the kickplate computer. the only thing that concerned me was when I stripped back the green blue and brown wires one or two has some oxide. I cleaned it up and used a little cleaner but I dont know maybe they could have shorted somewhere or if there is a war totest the electric flow it might be getting resisted on the way back? Also the seal from motor to t case, where do I get that, or should I just use a liquid seal>?
