97 Expy double din CD Player will not fit

Hi

I just bought an Alpine double din CD Player for my 97 Expy and it will NOT fit!!
I thought the Expy came with a standard double din!

Can anyone tell me if there are some mods I will have to do?

My previous vehicle was a 97 F150 and I had an aftermarket double-DIN head unit installed. They had to use a reciprocating saw to cut a bigger hole in the dash behind the radio compartment though. Looking back on it, I can't believe I let them do that to my truck (it was less than 6 months old at the time). But it worked great. They also had to rig some extra mounting hardware in the back though, which made it very difficult to have the HU removed in the future (but it also meant that the thing wasn't going to get stolen). The factory HU in that truck was the same size as a double-DIN only at the faceplate. It tapered down to a single DIN where it fit into the dash.
