Hello,
I have a bit of a problem and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. The problem is when I start my truck in the morning when the outside temp is very cold it will not idle until it warms up. I am also getting P0171 and P0174 system adaptive fuel too lean bank 1 and 2. During the summer it runs perfectly. Once it is warmed up in the morning durning the winter it runs fine the rest of the day. I am getting no faults other than the P0171 & P0174. The only problem I have had with the truck was the thermostat stuck and it ran hot for a few minitues. It didnt really overheat. I replaced the thermostat and everything has been fine. That was a couple of years ago. Someone had mentioned that it could be a IAT sensor but my vehicle doesnt seem to have one. I did replace the coolant temp. sensor but that did not do anything. I also re tourqued the upper intake manifold bolts just incase they were loose. Any Ideas? Thanks

You probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. I've had some upper intake gaskets leaking and causing these codes, however they usually don't run too rough. I suggest looking around the intake for a vacuum hose that fell off, and listening for a small whistle while it's idling. Also, check and make shure the tube from the intake to the air cleaner is tight and the small hose that tee's into the intake tube is attached,( they sometimes get unhooked when someone checks the air filter).
I had the same problem and most likely caused it myself. I recently incstalled a K&N intake system. One of the hose clamps had came loose right at the throttle body. I simply reinserted the tube from the T-body to the air cleaner and retightened. I cleared the code with a rental unit from Autozone. The fix cost me nothing but a little time to troubleshoot.
