Trouble starting this morning.
So, this morning I couldn't get the truck to crank. It would turn over, but wouldn't crank. I called for a ride to work. The boss gets there, picks up a basketball puts it up to clog the exaust pipe and tells me to try and start it. Out of sheer curiosity, I do it. After a coupla trys, it cranks! What is this all about? He says that they used to have to do that to the humvee's at his last unit sometimes.
So like I said, what is this all about and how do I make it so that I don't have to find someone to hold the basketball every morning?

just an ole cheapo basketball. He stated something about having to create more combustion in the motor or something. He just told me that it might have had something to do with the fact that I forgot give the glowplugs a chance to warm up. (I had been driving the wife's toyota for a couple of days). Could that have had something to do with it?
