i dont think that would quite count. thats more than a super duty.
i havent seen it im trying to think of the size differnces between the two. makebe i will have to go look at my buddies 4400 Lopro that has it in it.
im looking to buy a 4400 soon nice having more stopping capacity and larger cab for some more room, the full air ride and air ride seats make the run up the I-5 much better. i think the biggest thing with the dt466 would be the bell housing. would have to custom build the 6 speed to fit or mate up the allison 2000, or a roadrunner 7 speed???? hmmmm
Id like to see it but the engine is HUGE!! I doubt it would fit. Im almost certain of it. Although im sure someone w/ alot of money and patience can do just about anything.
ok i went and looked at my buddies truck, that would be one interesting hood for it to fit under like IT said its huge and i didnt realize how tall it is.
It would fit in a F650 or so. I wouldnt get the new 24 valve DT(313) just yet as they are having some issues. Id stick w/ the 308 version. Boy i wish itd fit but oh well.
Here are some dimentions (inches) for comparison sake, from IH & Cummins. T444e .................DT466.............B5.9.............C8.3
L=36 ...................L=45...............L=40........ .....L=45
W=30...................W=30..............W=25..... .......W=30
H=36....................H= 41..............H=38.............H=43
Dry# 930..............Dry# 1425......Wet# 952-997..........Wet#1360
International Tech, is it a lot larger? Another thing I just thought about, that truck had about a 3" cowl hood on it, I assume for clearence. That would work on the old trucks, but since a good bit of the Super Duty's engine compartment is under the cowl, the only way to gain that clearence would be a body lift.
i dont know if the dana 60 would be able to handle another 500 lbs....need a front axle upgrade...hmm new sled tugger.....have alot more room for twin turbo in the i-6....
From the chart above the dt466 is 9 inches longer, there is not 9 inches to spare, I think you would have to cut the firewall and make a removable tunnel for clearance and you would have to do something about the hieght too.
