I just bought my 2000 7.3 and a week after I bought it I replaced the fuel filter. Then a couple of days later it leaks fuel out of some kind of drain line out of the passenger side exghaust manifold, only at idle!! Please help
Look at the top of the fuel filter cover around 7 o'clock is the water drain valve you may have inadvertently opened it while changing the fuel filter. This vavle is used to release the water that the filter housing traps.

The leak comes out of the exhaust manifold, I did check the drian valve on the fuel filter and it was good. Thanks for the help!!
Strange?? The pipe from the drain valve goes down the right front side of the block and comes out near the exhaust manifold. The drain hole for the lifter valley is at right rear corner it comes out on the manifold also. You might remove you engine cover and see what ya see. Maybe some trash lodged in the drain valve and it is leaking past?? Could be the oring around the fuel filter lid? It seems too new for rotten fuel hoses.
OK, so it is the drain tube from the fuel filter and its all the way off. It only leaks when the engine is running. Is there specific way of turning it off or is it a seal issue.
i had that same thing happen on my wifes 2000 i replaced the valve. tried just doing o rings but it didnt do it. the valve runs about $40 and you need a #20 or a #25 torx bit if i remember correctly, should take about 20 min to change.
yeah you could just cap it off or pinch it off for a temp fix
