99' Powerstroke 6 Speed Grinding
I just purchased a 99' Powerstroke with a 6 Speed Transmission. When Downshifting from OD to 4th the transmission grinds sometimes. The pickup has 130,000 miles on it. Not sure what its history is, but it everything else seems to be in really great shape.
None of the other gears grind, just the downshift into 4th.
Any help would be appreciated.

..................I had some similar experiences with my 99 PSD\6 spd. at 75k miles a year ago . Would grind when i tried to engage 1st. from a start , and grind somewhen downshifting . Net result was , I pulled into Mc.D's , ate , returned to truck and truck would NOT go into gear . ...New clutch assembly , slave cylinder , etc . About 1k bucks . These clutches can go out just about anytime after 70 k miles so don't be surprised . sk
