CB Wirin' Question

Hey guys. I got my big project for X-Mas break done in 2 days (I built a new sub box) and was thinkin of other things I could be doin'. So here's my deal. I get ALOT of interference through my CB. The whine varies with engine RPM. Its current power source is the starter selenoid on the firewall. That's also where I have my ground for it. Do I need a new power source, a new ground point, or both? Where would be a good spot to do this at? Thanks and Happy Holidays to all

Jake

Funny thing - The 2 way business band we use on the farm doesn't get any interference and its power / ground is in the same spot as the CB's!!!!!

Ground your CB away from your positive as much as possible and have your ground wire as short as possible. The better your ground, the less interference you'll receive. I always have good luck with seat belt bolts or seat bolts. Worse comes to worse upgrade your battery's ground cable and secure it to the motor cleanly. That's what I ended up having to do.

Get power straight from the battery(fused). I Also agree with osucharger.

Solinoid should work, but going through a fuse box is how I've always done it, rarely have interfernece.
