Question (Another) block heater question....

Hi again.... so this afternoon, i decited to try out my block heater, and make sure it was still functional (i haven't used it in a while) it was just about 32* outside so it wasn't too cold....I pluged her in at about 4, and went to start at 6. I fliped the key to the on postion, and the "wait to start light" was only on momentarily, and it fired right up. I glanced over at the temp gauge, but it read just a hair over the C mark.... is this normal, or should the temp been higher off the bat?? the glow plugs only cycled on for a sec, so i would imagine that the heater is working, although i was under the assumption the the temp gauge would go up some also.... note that it was only pluged in for 2 hours, (this is what the manual states is suffecent time) thanks!!

sounds ok to me... the other night I plugged mine in and the temp gauge was below the "C" mark. when I turned the key later it was half a needle above the "C" mark and it started fine (earlier that day, before I started plugging it in, I went to start it and it fired off like it was running on 5 cylinders) yea gads!!

That's completely normal. Sounds like everything is working.

Don't rely too much on the stock dash gages, they are not calibrated, and are more or less elaborate idiot lights.
