fuel leak under the filter

fuel leak under the filter

This is my first 95 7.3 I changed the two easy fuel lines and hoped it wasent the bottom one but it looks like the hose under the filter, anyone know how hard it is to change it? looks like two bolts hold down the fuel filter but is there more? any tips? sure appreciate any help Thanks

that hose on the bottom is a little bit harder to get to, just remove the 2 bolts on the filter housing, remove the hose from the low pressure pump to the filter housing to allow more room and to allow movement on the filter housing...and then remove the bottom hose ( hi-pressure pump fuel supply). you need to check a couple of other areas for your fuel leak...the vacum/pressure switch on the back of the filter housing (black with 1 wire on it)...the filter housing itself will leak around the bottom from corrosion on the inside...the mechanical fuel pump ( 2 pumps in one) there are 2 weep holes and you can check these with a mirror...and the fuel filter lid seal could leak. hope this helps.

Thanks a lot I feel a lot more confident now and I will also check thoes areas you mentioned. my local mechanic wanted $400 bucks and I just dont have it, thanks again. Pete
