Cracked headlight housing

I recently had a bulb burn out and took the time and money to go ahead and replace them both. I replaced the passenger side one out no problem, went to pull the driver side bulb out and heard a pop, my first thought was oh crap, pull it off and sure enough part of the housing had cracked. My question is, is it ok for this, the spot in the housing is covered by the black piece that surrounds the base of the headlight. Thanks for ya'lls help

The only thing I could possibly see happening with a cracked housing would be moisture entering. I'm not sure what all problems would come from that, but a new housing is only about $40 on eBay.

I would just seal it up, the moisture & dirt will shorten the bulb life.

That would work, I would use a thicken epoxy if you need to strengthen the housing.
