My son rolled a 2002 ranger edge on it's drivers side. It was still running while on its side for about 2 minutes. he turned it off and after we rolled it back onto all 4 wheels it won't start. The starter will engage but the belts only move about 2 inches before it stops. We changed the starter after looking at it and seeing some worn brushes and it still won't start. Any ideas where we should look next?
I thought there is a roll over kill switch on these Rangers that kills the engine in the event of a mishap such as yours. The owner's manual should show the location of this switch and provide instruction on how to reset it
Oil probably seeped into the cylinders.
Then on the passenger side fire wall you will find the inertia fuel cut out switch.
It is probably activated and I think you just have to push the plunger back down to start the fuel flowing again.
I agree and when you get that cleared I would check the fuel pump inertia switch as well. It is a small button that should be behind the kick panel on passenger side floorboard that kills the fuel pump in the event of an accident. Won't keep the motor from turning over but will stop it from firing due to lack of fuel.
