2004 f150 audio connector PINOUT and wire color information for single cd system
I went ahead and did the dirty work yesterday of metereing and testing everything to find which wires go to what, because I could not find it on the web anywhere.
Here is a complete list if what goes where. These are all located at the plug end, going into the radio. Switched 12V+ may be a different color, but it is located in the same position! Whoop! Whoop!
Thanks,
MK

you could have just stopped by your local dealer and talk to a service guy and see if he would let you look through the F-150 wiring manual. That's what I did when I was trying to research the Audiophile plug layout and wires. He even let me photocopy whatever pages I wanted out of the book. I know the radios were in there too.
btw, if anyone needs to tap into the rear speaker wires, they run along the driver's door sill with a bunch of other wires. And the speakers wires are unique because they are twisted together. For example, the left speaker wires, grey/light blue and tan/yellow are twisted together. The right rear speaker wires must turn and go across the floor behind the front seats. This was in my Screw. I just tapped into the left/right rear speaker wires for my high level input into my sub amp I just added.
btw
My closest ford dealer is 56 miles each way. I don't really like them to begin with, and I am not going to drive that far to get something that I discovered myself. I just thought I would post that info here so others can benefit from my work.
This simplifies the whole deal, and isn't as complicated as the wiring diagram books.

Thanks mkoser...fyi though...most color combos on the wires are fluent with all vehicles made by ford. More than likely the same colors are true for a mustang as for a f150.
My 1997 Expedition wasn't anything close to this.....
I thought the same thing too, so I took the radio out of the expy to compare and wasn't the same.

I'm trying to wire a amp up to my stock head unit, but I can't find the AV cable port on the head unit. What am I missing, I've pulled the radio out, and it seems simple enough, yet no ports. Thanks guys.
...my stereo installation guide says it can only be used with 12v DC power supply negative ground. What does this mean? & which truck wire (blk/green or black) do I connect to blk stereo ground wire? Installation guide says "be sure to ground this unit to the cars chassis again after installation". How do I connect ground wires correctly?
