We just got a brand new 2004 F-150 extended cab pickup at the shop and I'd like to source a thick, heavy duty, rubber bed mat to protect the bed from the heavy objects that will be hauled around in the bed. Does anyone have any suggestions??? We are a sales/service/parts/rental facility that specializes in industrial equipment as well as construction equipment. Thanks in advance, Jeff
Thanks for all the suggestions, I think they're looking hard at the Rhino spray in bed liner. We haul heavy parts and tools so they like the non-skid surface of the rubber mats over the plastic bed liners. The rubber mats he looked at were thinner than he liked and he worried that they wouldn't hold up. In addition, he wants tailgate protection as well. We're still mulling it over.
A farmer I know laid a livestock mat in the bed of his new truck, they come 48''X80''X3/4'' thick very durable rubber material. They are actually made for horse stalls where owners are trying to protect there horses' legs from standing on concrete. This size runs about $62 @ Tractor Supply. Obviously this size is good for a 6.5' box, but even then it won't cover the corners in front of and behind the wheel wells. Still these are the most heavy duty mats going, they run about 120 pounds at this size, also available in smaller sizes.
