i orgianaly thought that the engine is shot now i tried todrive it while its cold and got same prob no power when accelarateing etc lots of noise that sounds like lifters but when in neutral or park i can rev engine and not hear the noise what i was wondering is if trans is shot could that cause engine to overheat quickley .
It could if the engine is trying to work overtime to get the truck going. I remember before I replaced my trans that I had to push it hard to get it going. I could barely get it to go past 65mph. When the trans started going it made ALOT of racket.
already called around here 1395-2000 for a rbuilt one was the price that all the tranny shops gave meain't got the funds todo it rightnow an the account that i just bought a new house this sucks
Yup, I had a Bronco II with a bad A4LD and ended up selling it because all the shops wanted an arm and a leg to rebuild it and I couldn't find a rebuilt unit anywhere that didn't cost just as much. I was just about tempted to swap in a 5 speed until the local code enforcement ***** started giving me heck about having an inoperative vehicle parked in my driveway.
This is just an example of the trans I bought from this company. I don't know if this is the exact trans for you. They are listed as Man-Trans on eBay. The phone and email support was good for helping me find the right trans for my truck. My only complaint is that they never left me any feedback on eBay.
