Be very careful of outside warranty companies. While I'm sure there are many fine companies out there, there are also a lot of scams. Think about it. You sell a couple of milllion dollars worth of policies. Then after expences, aka salaries/bonuses, you don't have enough money left to pay claims. The company files bankrupcy and you move to your condo in the Bahamas. Good luck.
DO NOT, I reapeat DO NOT buy any extended warranty other than the FACTORY FORD ESP EXTENDED WARRANTY. On my last truck I bought an extended warranty from Warranty Gold, did all the research on the company, called the BBB & everything seemed good. Paid $1,800 for a 7 year / 150,000 mile warranty, the day after I made the final payment the company filed bankruptcy, got a whole 3 month warranty for $1,800! It still hurts when I sit down after that one.
Try warrantydirect.com They are $2000 less than Ford ESP for same coverage. Local dealer uses them for their used car warranties. Been in business for 25 years. And yes if a covered item fails and damages an uncovered item they will repair the uncovered item. ie Seal fails and oil gets on rotors and brakes they will cover the brake and rotor repair also.
I've seen all of the posts about only buy from Ford but with the same if not better warranty for that much less, I'll get it over the Ford ESP. Ford ESP doesn't take the 5/100,000 engine warranty into consideration in their quotes. You can go to www.fordwarrantys.com and get an online quote. It will be the same as the one from jeff or slightly better. Best Ford ESP quote I got was from Hunt Ford in DC area. www.fordwarranty.com (No s)

warrantydirect 7/100,000 SecureCare+ $2,055 with emission $2205
Ford ESP 7/100,000 Preminum care $4245
Hunt Ford ESP quote $4000
Ford ESP is the best warranty on the market. If you cant buy ESP you are better off without a warranty. Most of the outside warranties wont pay or most repair shops wont accept them. ESP is good at any Ford dealer and never a doubt about what is covered and whats not. But shop the ESP because dealers charge different prices.
Local dealers can get the aftermarket stuff covered but try breaking down 500 miles away and try and get someone to work on it. Seen it happen numerous times. Any Ford dealer selling anything other than ESP is cheating the customer.

You shopped around, compared vehicles and did some research before you you bought or ordered your vehicle. Do the same with the extended warranty. Yes they are not all the same and the Ford ESP isn't the best one out there. (Based on coverage and price) You have to decided based on your research which warranty is right for you. Remember you are just purchasing a warranty that covers you after the 3/36,000 bumper to bumper. The engine is covered to 5/100,000. So you are really buying an extended warranty that covers everything except the engine. Check with your dealer to see what warranty companies they deal with.
The local dealer sells Ford ESP on new vehicles they use warrantydirect for the used vehicle sales and as an option on new vehicle sales.

My prior dealer sold aftermarket warranties as well as ESP. They told me that warrantydirect was better and less money. I checked with some consumer groups I know of (like ClarkHoward.com) and their opinion was to stay away due to what happened with the guy that had warranty gold who happened to be highly rated by people. I wonder if you pay with a credit card if you have any recourse? I would check that out before I gave any money to a non manufacturer warranty company.
My Credit Union offered me a third party warranty when I financed my truck for much cheaper than the ford warranty. I wonder how well they would back the warranty if the company went belly up.
Another consideration...Geico and some other insurance companies offer "Mechanical Breakdown Insurance" which for all intensive purposes are as good as ESP or extended warranties becasue they cover the vehicle bumper to bumper. You can get it from Geico for like $9 a month extra.

I've used this warrantydirect for other vehicles I've owned in the past and they paid immediately direct to the dealership with no problems. Plus being about 2 grand cheaper than Ford's, and covering more it seems, it's definately worth it.
