I just got my new X-monitor in the mail today and was looking over the installation instructions. The directions indicate that the tranny temp gauge is to be teed into the transmission temperature sensor wire at the PCM connector. I had thought that it would be directly connected to the tranny case via a sender unit...that's what I've read on this forum and deiselmanor.com. Will this gauge still be accurate? Please advise...I hope to do the installation this weekend.
Mine is tied into the wire at the indicated connector next to the battery on the drivers side of the truck. Works like a champ. When I fire up the truck in the morning the indicated temp is generally the same as the ambient air outside - unless it warmed up some before I got into the truck. In that case it might read 55 F at the tranny vs a 63 F outside temp on the lie-o-meter.
