ranger timing chains question?
I have a 93 ranger with a 3.0 engine. it gas 98,000 miles on it. i think my truck has a timing chain on it? Is this correct? if so how often do they need changed? How do you tell if one is going bad? How big of a job is it to change one?Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks Bob

Your engine does have a timing chain. They will last a long time, you have 50-100k miles more before you have to worry about it. It is a big job but not to hard, the timing chain is behind the water pump so gaining access is most of the work.
My 1989 2.9l Ranger had 130k and the chain was fine, the 1965 caddy did jump at 90k but.....
