I've had 1,600 lbs. of marble in mine (Don't ask how I got into that situation) and that is the most I would ever do. I was able to stack in in the second row footwells and the forward part of the cargo area to keep as much load on the front end as possible. It did OK for the 35 miles home.
Longer flooring that would be further rear loaded - no way.

he showed up and loaded it up.... we told him 3 ltimes about the weight. he insisted he called the ford dealer and was yold it could handle it. I doubt the guy can steer. he will bottom out on every bump.... it'll be a fun ride back to iowa

What year was the Expi? an 03 or 04 with the IRS would really be interesting as the half shafts go through a hole in the frame. I think the normal payload on an EXpi is obout 1200# or less. Post pics if you have them I do not think I would want 2500# of any thing behind me if I have to stop fast. Or if I could stop fast.
