Dude I have never had bad issues with Toyota. They are excellent made vehicles. If the car rolled, I'm assuming it wasnt a direct frontal hit. Which means regardless if she rolled or not, the airbags shouldnt deploy. My wife rolled her 98 Mustang 3 times and they didnt pop. You should really research matters before making claims. Maybe they werent designed to deploy from a side or top impact?
That's kind of like suing Ford because their SUV's "rollover so much more often than a regular car." You can't say SUV's are unsafe because they roll over more - they have much higher centers of gravity, since they sit up higher, which is what makes them SUV's.
There's not much in cars to protect you in rollovers except strong, solid bodies, or rollbars. Seems like most of these lawsuits nowadays are all matters of driver negligence or error.
I don't want to sound like I'm bashing on you, and I sure hope nobody was hurt, but it doesn't seem right to sue Toyota for your sister rolling a car.
Sorry, but you cannot sue because of her neglient driving. I have survived one head on collision with a tree at 50 mph in a 97 T-bird. Came out without a scratch! If I would have tried to correct that night and lost control, spinning sideways into a tree, I wouldn't be here now! Always hit with the FRONT of your vehicle, never the side. The rest I'll let you figure out. I did that night in an instant. Did it have side curtains or rollover sensors in the roof? Ford's new 500 and Mercury's Montego's have it available as an option.
I'm almost positive it doesnt have side curtains or rollover sensors on that model. I dont know if Toyota puts those in their cars yet unless maybe the 04-05 models. As for Toyotas not being safe, you cant compare them to our trucks because they are smaller. Guarantee their cars are as safe as an Escort or Focus though. Just Comparing apples to apples.

well heres one for the (_*_) who told me to get a life ....... and for those of you who say air bags are for frontal crash only THE CAR HAD SIDE AIR BAGS with doors crushed and 3 1/2 flips the side air bags should have deployed i understand why the front bags didnt come out but what i call totally unsafe is the fact the side bags didnt deploy .........when car stoped it was on passenger side with driver side up in air ( made front page of the news paper ) ..... yes my sister was at fault a 16 yr old girl , a corner , loose gravel , and inexperienced driving caused wreck (speed not a factor) i'll have to see if i can get some pics then it will make since to everyone that there is no good reason for the side mount bags not to have deployed .......... yes shes ok bruised up real bad and staples in head and knees seat belt saved her life but the failed safety feature would have saved her from being so bruised

"Not all side-impact head air bags are designed to deploy as rollover air bags. Check with your dealer and vehicle manufacturer for the availability of side-impact head air bags that can also operate as rollover air bags."
