I did that too....but I went to ebay and searched Mustangs, then 4x4 - Mustang and found it. Not a really good looking job, but it would be fun to see if you could make it better looking. I don't like the way the frame is all sticking out under it.
Ive seen people have done that before theres a guy here in omaha that has a 79 camaro like that and i seen someone with a ford pinto like that. But i have to say i never seen a stang with 4x4. This guy must have been bored one winter and desided to put together his stang and f150. I have to say not every one drives something like that.
Theres a kid nex town over from me that has an 80's stang on a bronco or a bronco II frame, i think its the II frame, but anyway it looks alot cooler than that, it dosent show as much frame , but is insanley cool. however its also not street leagal, he trailers it everywhere with his bronco, it looks cool going down the road, Bronco with 44's huge car trailer, and a mustang with 40's.
Looking at that it seems like a waste of a really nice classic car and a perfectly good truck. I've seen a mustang II from the eighties that was done much smother looking I'm pretty sure they put a big chrome front and rear bumper on it to help smooth it out a little more and the frame was almost completely hidden, but they might have used nerf bars or running boards to do that too. This looks like to much of a hack job for what it is supposed to be.
ebay links are hard to work with. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. It is best to just post the item number. Simple solution and everybody can find it.
Actrually, if I had say a 'totaled' stang and a truck witha useless body...I might consider doing something like that...do a better job on it..but it is interesting...you owuld certainly get alot of weird looks at the mud pits with 44s under it.....sure that think is light as H E double hockey sticks
Waaayy back in the late '70s in Mtn View, CA there was a guy who worked at a 76 station who had a 4x4 conversion Ford Cortina sedan...think it was a Mark I. Google it if you aren't familiar with 'em. British job. It was a nice job, very funny.
Some other guy in town had a Chevy Nomad wagon 4x4 conversion...probably a body welded to a truck chassis. Now THAT was a waste of a classic.
My buddy and I converted our '73 Datsun pickups to 4x4 a year or so before Toyota came out with their 4x4 pickup...we still out wheeled them though. Wish I still had that little truck, it was a hoot!
