My Dealer reciept was with a bunch of papers that were in the glove box. I guess, since it wasn't sold, it was passed down after the death of my wifes grandfather(to my father-in-law) nothing was cleaned out .
Did Ford actually call the light green Seapint green ? or was there a typo on the invoice ? I thought it was Seafoam Green.
Seapint & Winter Green are the colors listed for my truck.
Great find! I was excited when I bought my pickup from the original owner and he gave me the dealer invoice, original warranty card (12mos/12,000mile!), owners manual, and even the little round replacement key tag (what you'd take to the dealer if you lost your keys). Pretty cool.
What is even cooler is when you are the original owner and have those things, plus, you know you have documented everything about it
Well, look at it like a relationship.
While it's cool to be with the same person for 10 years,
you know each other inside and out... well, close.
The old... relationship... lacks the Fire of finding and getting to know a new Love! kinda corny sounding.
With a "just aquired" vehicle it's easy to say ... "What are the possibilities". With a truck that you've had for 10 - 30 years you have to stop and think ... "I know what she is, but what could she become"
I found a wholesale stand alone Motorcraft parts store that just happened to have some NOS ignition parts.
I put the new parts on & saved the old stuff in a shoebox for safe keeping.
The best part of all this was, after putting all the parts on, I took a chance and drove the car 300 miles to Saskatchewan & back to Calgary the new weekend.
The engine ran like crap when I bought the car but with the new parts on it, it ran like a top. It got 25 mpg hwy,19 city.
I got my 78 F-350 S/C T/S from my Grandfather earlier this year, which he bought brand new when I was 4 years old. He had EVERYTHING from the dealer in the glovebox! The dealer invoice, original warranty card, owners manual, service paperwork and even the original clear blue FORD bag which holds the Owners manual (and as it says on the bag, "Do not discard this bag...it may be used as a litter bag!)
I was shocked to see these items at all, but it was even more special that they are in such great shape! Gotta love the OE items!!
