Well, I purchased the standard cab, long box for $1300 and it needs a lot of work. I was wondering if someone could recomend a good place to order new body panels from? The cab cornersw are rusted but not completely gone, the front fenders need replace, the doors are shot, and the box has more bondo and rust in it than I've ever seen. I plan to purchase an entire "Southern" box for it with a new tailgate and I'll repair the cab and replace the rest. The hoopd is rusty around the edges so I was wondering if anybody produced an aftermarket fiberglass hood for these trucks or even a stock steel reproduction would be nice?
Anyway, I mainly want to know where to find good body panels. I began to tear the truck down this week and I like to get some new replacements ordered. At the moment I am working on replacing all the brake lines, fuel lines, wiring, etc. and then the frame will get some fresh coats of gloss black.
Check the sponsors a couple of them have a lot of the body parts you mentioned. Jeff's bronco graveyard and motor haven have quite a few body parts. If no luck there then check LMC truck and JC Whitney. The only part that might be a problem is the hood. Is it repairable or is it totally shot. IF it is shot you might have to check the boneyards.
Well, the hood probably is repairable, but most of the rust holes are near the edges which scares me. I was just browsing through the Bronco Graveyard website, and they've got almost everything i was looking for, even an OEM hood. Thanks.
Sounds like a good excuse to ride the back roads and do some "window shopping" and knock on some doors. There are some good parts candidates just sitting and waiting for folks to make an offer. My neighbor just cut an old man's grass and hauled him a load of wood in trade for the old guy's broken down F150.
