Correct Gear Oil

Hello,

Great forum! I've owned a 1977 F-150, 4x4, 4 speed for a little over a year now and I was wondering about the correct weight of oil for the transmission and transfer case. The owners manual says SAE 50 but I don't ever recall seeing straight 50 gear oil.

80W90 API GL-4 or GL-5. I use Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube in my case and diff's.

Just don't add synthetic to your regular oil, bad mix. they do make a SAE 50 motor oil. Go with 80w90 gear oil
