Talking working my 89

right now i have an 89 bronco stock that i use for offroad. i just purchased a 4 " rancho suspension lift. limited slip front and back 4.56 gears, 35x 12.50x15 bfgoodrich mudterrains on black rock crawler rims. i also bought a parts truck that had a stock 351w with edelbrock exhaust, jet performance chip, and k&n intake. i took the motor and trans out of the parts truck and is now sitting in my garage im putting a roller cam in it roller lifters and rocker arms. changed the valve springs on the heads and also got a high volume oil pump for it. but the bronco i took the motor and trans out of i noticed has a completely different tranny on it than the one that my 302 has attatched to it on my truck now. i took all the wiring harnesses out of the parts truck that goes with the motor and trans. also the parts truck had a manual over drive button that i took out of it so im guessing it is a c6 trans. wat i really need to know is how in all hell to hook this manual over drive button up in my 89 bronco wit AOD. so that means with the 302 that is in my truck now there is no overdrive button i put it in gear and go but wen i put the 351w and the c6 in there i have to hook this button up. it has 5 wires coming out of it and i just cut it out of the parts truck because the tow truck was here to take it while i was just pulling some last parts that i needed out of it.
so i dont know how to hook this button up and i no it needs to be done any help would be greatly appreciated

Get a wiring diagram that will show you just what each wire goes to. Then for each part that wire goes to, see if there is a way to attach that part to your new build. If you can't get it all to connect correctly, you may have to stick with the manual version of OD in and out.

that tranny with the od button is an E4OD and wont work in your 89 unless you do lots of work. just bolt the AOD thats in your 89 to the 351w. I am running the same setup and works great. when you do this you will need a flexplate from an 80's ford crownvictoria car that had the 351/aod combo . this is very important because it will have proper weight 28oz and is 164teeth. use your 302 fuel injection harness and such. and check out fordfuelinjection.com for a 351/c6 ecu to use with your swap and you will be set. that donor truck was what year? must be newer then what your bronco is now correct?

the motor isnt the problem its the tranny. its electronicly controlled. and that year of that tranny had lots of problems. they didnt get good till 93-94 and are around $2000+ to have rebuilt. you could get your AOD built for 1200 and handle over 500hp. get what im saying. its really not worth the hassle. but if you must do this you will need the entire harness out of the donor rig including the ecu. i hate to say it but you made this swap way harder then you needed to and what you felt when you first drove it wasnt the tranny but the motor its alot more powerful then the 302 you had in the 89 for sure.

just trying to help so dont be a *****.
now with the mods you have to the stock 351w you wont be close to 300hp sorry.

you would need to add a cam, headers, throttle body and intake and possibly some head work to get over 300 hp.

lol i added a much bigger cam than stock changed valve springs converting everything to roller have a jet performance chip, k&n intake, edelbrock exhaust, heddman hedders, high flowing cats, and added an electric cooling fan instead of belt driven. so considering that the compression tested out to be wat it said in the chiltons book, i figured by putting over a grand into it i added atleast 50+ hp.
