My ac blows out of the defroster instead of the dash, it will change on its own, when accelarating or de-accelarating, please advise what I need to do, thank youu
Sounds like either a vacuum leak regarding the climate controls, or the blend door is going down the tubes. The blend door issue is common to both the Explorer and Ranger, which are set up the same way.
You've got a bad vaccum check valve.when you are idleing you have good vaccum and the control works right, when you accelorate, you loose vaccum and the selector goes to the default possition ( defrost ) . there is a check valve that is supposed to hold vaccum on the control when you accelorate.mine did the same thing, but I could'nt find the little bugger and ran a bypass vaccum line and a $2 check valve from auto zone and it works great now.You could probably talk to someone at ford and find out the location of the valve ,they have a vaccum diagram that shows the location.
Can someone tell me where the vacuum reservoir is located on a 1999 Ford Ranger, 2.5, I have looked everywere ! ! Thanks
