I got a 86 ford f15o pickup the gas gauge works for about 5 min then goes to empty... i had the sending unit replaced an yet it still did the same thing.So i got a new gauge same thing...what is my other option ive tried takin it to a shop dude did same things i did yet it worked for 5 10 min an ends up to empty..

Do you have dual tanks? If not, I would take the wire off the sending unit and tie to a good ground on the frame. Run the truck and see if it does the 5 minute thing.
If it reads full, and stays there, that means your wiring and guage are ok. Since you replaced the sending unit, I would suspect you may have a grounding problem. You should have a ground wire I think that is bolted to the sending unit, and then runs in the harness somewhere and goes to a ground on the frame. You can add another wire bolted to the sending unit, and then run it over to a good place on the frame and bolt it there if you suspect the ground may be your problem.
I am also guessing that your system reads full when grounded, and empty when open or infinite. Gm is the reverse, and sometime in the late 80's early 90's Ford changed their guage system to read empty with the sending unit grounded and full with it open or infinite resistance.
