Exclamation Trailer Wiring 89 F350 Crew Cab

Does anyone know if the connectors for the factory tow package are still availible for my 89 F350. If not does anyone know which wires do what as they are not coded to industry standard. I need to install my Brake Controller and my rv plug so I can tow my 5th wheel. Thanks for any input.

wiring

Look under your dash below the radio and see if there is a plug for the controller (they can hid under there). Otherwise:
You should have 4 wires on the controller,
the red wire is the signal (input)
Blue is the brake output running to the trailer
White is ground
Black is the power supply

For an '89-

You can splice the Red wire from the controller into the turn signal connector harness (not directly to the stop light switch). Turn signal harness is located near your steering column, the harness has a crescent shaped connector which has 4 positions in the inner row and 7 positions in the outer row. The wire you need to splice into should be located at the 2nd position in the outer 7 position row. The color of the wire is light green. If you don't get the wiring package, run a 12 guage blue wire to the trailer plug.
The White wire must go to the negative terminal of the battery, don't ground it to the dash.
Connect the Black wire thru an automatic reset 20 or 30 amp circuit breaker(depending on requirement of the controller) to the positive terminal of the battery.
The Blue wire goes back to the trailer plug. If you don't get the harness, make sure to use 12 gage.

As far as the trailer plug goes, you can splice into the harness coming into the drivers side tail light.
Brown w/white stripe is marker lights
yellow- left turn/ brake light
green- right turn/ brake light
blue- brake (from controller)
white- ground
Hope this helps. Good luck.
