Question Torque value for front bearing hub for 01 XLT 4x4?

Does anyone have the torque value for the nut that connects the front bearing hub to the CV axle for a 01 4x4 XLT Escape? I may have a bad front bearing caused by the removal of the front rotors (see my thread on BFG Long Trail noise ... posted on 7/8 by gd98tj).

These are typcially around 110 - 130 ft lb.

How about the front hub to front steering knuckle bolts torque setting?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Wheel hub nut 214 lb-ft.
What do you mean by the hub to steering knuckle? The hub is pressed into the bearing in the steering knuckle.

I suspect that you have a defective tire rather than a bad bearing. Anyway, here are the torque specs for reinstalling the steering knuckle:

Steering knuckle to strut bolts: 85 ft-lb
Ball joint pinch bolt: 52 ft-lb
Tie rod end: 41 ft-lb
Axle nut: 214 ft-lb

Good luck and let us know what you find.
