Is anyone running BFG Long Trails on their Escape? I am & I have lots of noise.

I just put new BFG Long Trails on my wife's Escape. I'm getting a ton of speed related noise. Everyone who rides in the vehicle say "Holy crap your car is loud".

Is any one running these tires?

Are they loud?

I have them mounted with the correct side out (they are asymetric).

I also changed the front brakes & rotors at the same time. I had to beat the rotors off (not too hard, but a couple whacks with a hammer). Has anyone damaged the front hub bearings during rotor removal & experienced subsequent excessive road noise?

Thanks.

A defective tire can make a lot of noise that sounds like a bad bearing. Have you tried changing the fronts with the rears or substituting the spare? It's hard to believe that both wheel bearings would be damaged. I've whacked off rotors and never had a wheel bearing get damaged.

I'll try the spare tire & swap the front tires w/the rears.

Very strange...

My wife's TrailBlazer has the long trails on it and we have never had any problems w/ them. they have a little over 30k miles on them.

mine are noisy, i really wasnt aware of how noisy until this spring, i had bought some used goodyears on jeep rims to run in the winter for 2 reasons, the b.f.g. tires didnt grip well on wet or slick surfaces and my factory alumn rims still look like new and id rather not run them in the salt if i dont have to. any how, when spring came and i put the b.f.g tires back on, it was a very noticeable diffrence. even my wife who didnt notice the change from steel jeep rims and 215/15 tires to 235/15 tires on ranger alumn rims said "why is this thing so loud?" now, my tires are old, according to the date code they were made in march of '01. the tread still looks like new and isnt cupped. the jeep tires are off a '91 wrangler and even though the tread is barely-legal, they get a better grip and are quiet. dont think age would really make a differance concerning noise, tread design usally does, most mud tires are really loud.

Well, I figured out the problem.

See my post titled "Warning: Be Careful Changing your Front Rotors. Could be BIG $$$$$".
