High pitched whistle on acceleration
I have an 01 Explorer Sport which has developed a very high pitched almost piercing whistle. It is 100% reproducable. If I am traveling at highway speeds and and accelerate just slightly, it will happen. Seems like it is present in the 1st 10-15% of the throttle.
This started happening about the time that I had the Cam chain tensioner TSB performed. Anyone have any ideas? Leaky intake, or ?? I took it to the dealer yesterday and he blamed it on my tires (typical). he said they were cupped and that I needed an alignment! Well, the tires are brand new and not cupped. The problem has nothing to do with it. Typical dealer excuse.
