I'm new here, but I need to know if anyone would know how I can get a replacement side mirror (Pass. side) for my 99 Explorer. I need THE GLASS ONLY. I can find plenty of replacement mirrors- but the motor and frame are in place - only the glass and the plastic backing of the glass needs replaced.
Im in Florida - but does anyone have a link?
Thanks so much

Go to your local auto store such as Autozone. Many of them carry just the replacement glass. To install, you need to remove all the old glass, clean the surface and paste on the new glass. I did it on my 92 a couple of years ago and haven't had any problems with it.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 98 EXPLORER. I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE AND FOUND NOTHING. FINALLY I LOOKED ON EBAY AND BOUGHT THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY (FRAME, MOTORS, GLASS, ETC.) FOR $50.00 BRAND NEW VERSUS $175.00 FROM THE DEALER.
I'm having the same luck - the Autozone guys didn't pan out. I specifically need the glass and the black plastic backing that attaches to the motor frame. The motor is working fine. Im going to check out Ebay - and I need to know what sort of "paste" or glue I may need to secure this thing assuming I don't end up at the Ford dealership. Does anyone know a brand name or something to look for?
Thanks,
Dee~
