PowerBand kicking in @ 3000 RPM's???

I have noticed a few people will say that the "powerband" kicks in at or around 3000 rpm's. I am pretty sure I do feel this at 2800-3000 rpms. If I am going 45 mph 5th gear and quickly goto 3rd and stomp on it, it is like my truck kicks it down another gear. Anyone else feel this???

3000 RPM is exactly where my `98 3.0L comes alive (well, as alive as the 3L can be). I thought it was just my truck, but it sounds typical for the 3L.

I am refering to my truck, a 3.0. It seems many people say the ole 3.Slow will get its power around 3000 RPM's and up. Dang thing is just slow get'n there.

It takes even longer in a 2.5L unless you mod it properly. My power band doesn't start till about 3500. Best way to overcome that is to downshift if you're already moving or double-clutch if you're accelerating.
