I have a 87 2wd ranger that is my daily driver, and runs great. I also have access to a 86 b2 with trashed body(dented, rusted beyond repair) but perfect drivetrain other then bad engine. What would it take to swap the b2's 4wd parts over to the ranger to make it a 4wd? is there any welding involved,or is it a bolt on deal? how about frame differences? both vehicles have the 2.9 v6 engine. thanks,Ben
Are both chassis the same wheel base?
Some guys think it's easier to change bodys than to change the suspension & transfer case etc.
How good/bad is the B frame?
You could swap the good engine in while the body is off and save some time there too.
no,the truck is a long wheel base ranger, and the b2 is shorter, not sure the exact measurments. I was thinking of doing the body swap, then I thought of the wheel base differences
