Biggest tires stock

I have a stock 4x4 xlt and I was wandering what the biggest tires size that you could put on it are?

I am planning on getting 17x9 wheels and 265/70/17 tires but I am not sure if this will work.

Anyone know?

If you add the Daystar Leveling kit you can go bigger. I went with the Fx4 18" wheel/tire package and upgraded to Eagle wheels Series 178 18x9 with Nitto Terra Grappler's 325/60R18's. I love the look ony my truck!

Yes your truck does look awesome. I am just not sure if I wanna tackle the leveling kit or not. It seems easy to do but I am worried about my spring compressor. And I cant find a shop around here who will do it.

You can fit 265/70/17's (about 32") with no lift/ no rubbing

A better choice is a 285/70/17 (about 33" tall) probably with no lift but I would recommend at least a 2" front lift to get the truck closer to level and make it look like a real 4X4 truck.

Or go "BIG" with a 315/70/17 (34.5" same tire on the new H2) and either a 2.5", 2.75" or even a 3" front lift. Even just lifting the front a full 3.0" the truck will still be very near level and look completely different (aka GOOOOD!!!!). These fit very well, fill the wheel well nicely and are D rated for towing. I think they are 3195 lbs each at 50 PSI max. Unloaded you can run them at between 27-30 for a much smoother ride and still great handling load capacity.

As far as the install...if you do not want to rent a HD coil spring compressor you can easily take the strut assemblies off then to a shop with a wall mounted HD coil spring compressor and just pay to have the spacers installed. Then take them back and reinstall them on the truck. If you do this be sure and mark left and right as well as the top mount position in ralation to the lower strut mount and spring possition in relation to the top mount. It's simple use white out or other suitable marking device and put one dot on the upper mount facing the tire, them the coil spring and shock body. On the pass side simply use two dots. This will keep things in order and eliminate headaches caused by mispositioning them. As with any lift you will need to have your truck aligned asap after install.

Take Care,
