Question Fuel filter wrong direction, no?

I changed the fuel filter on my 1990 E350 motorhome with the 460 V8 EFI. It appears the existing filter was in backward, but I put the new one in the same way. Not sure if I should turn it around. No manual to look up. Two lines come from back through a block with a plastic bowl on it (reservoir?). From there one line goes to engine compartment, the other goes to a cylindrical thing (maybe 8 inch by 2.5 inch) just above the fuel filter, then loops back to enter the fuel filter from the rear of truck direction. Exiting fuel filter frontward the line goes to engine compartment. So should the filter inlet be facing rear of truck (how I think it should be) or front of truck (how it was/is now)?

Solved my problem by cutting the old filter open. 17,000 miles on it. Element bulging from fuel pressurizing from inside the element instead of properly from outside the elemment. One area where there was a dark line crosswize to the element, meaning it was getting ready to blow out. Inside of element filthy grey. Outside clean as whistle. . I turned the new one around the proper direction. for the jerk that I paid to change this filter 3 years ago . Arrrrrrrgh. No wonder I have to do everything myself.

Worse yet, there is no perforated metal support tube inside the element (wonder what brand?). An old Motorcraft filter did have the support tube. The one I installed is Fram.

Hey, I like the little tachometer icon. Gotta learn how to do that someday. Once had Scooby Doo as avatar but they changed the site and I never had time to learn how to do in again.

I think you can go into user CP up at the top in the blue line. Towards the bottom of that screen is where the avitar part is.

Oh yeah. Looks easy now. It was the time before last that I lost the avitar, maybe 1.5 years ago. I'll see if I can upload something tomorrow. Thanks
