What is the largest lift kit you can put on a 2003 psd f 250??
I would like to know if 6" is the largest bolt on lift kit you can install on a 2003 f250 diesel?? if not could you please lead me in the right direction?
and what do i need to modify for a body lift?
I'm not too sure about the body lift on a diesel, but companies offer 6", 8", and 10" and up lift kits for our trucks. The determining factor will be what size tires you're looking to run, and if you're going to off-road your truck at all. Just about al the major lift companies offer 6" & up lift kits (Skyjacker, Superlift, Fabtech, Donahoe Racing, Whiplash Suspension. . . .theres a bunch more too!)
8" or 10" is pretty much the biggest off the shelf kit.
Not sure for a PSD, but on a gasser, you have to modify the fan shroud, (cut a chunk off the bottom) I know something with the inner cooler has to be done..
I don't recall anything else needing to be modified, all brackets and hardware are included, you will probably want lift lips or gap gaurds to hide the space between the frame and body.
The largest "off the shelf complete lift" , that I have seen, would be a 12.5" (includes everything needed except the necessary driveline mods)........but it's fairly easy to piece together parts needed to go larger than that if you wanted to.
With a diesel you'd have to modify the intercooler tubes to make a body lift work.
Largest I've seen for a 2wd was a 8" that was done by Camburg Engineering. You might try contacting them (although I think I've read that they would have to do the install) Click Here to visit their website.
Other than that, yes a 6" suspension lift is the largest that I've seen for the 2wd.
Camburg made that kit custom, I called and spoke to the rep. Currently off the shelf ... anything larger than 6" is very difficult to find. Full throttle was designing a 10" bolt on kit several months ago, but since last speaking with James (rep), I was told that the project was halted. Funny though that after he told me that I noticed that their site announced a 10" RAM kit.
Well, all the jargen about the two wheel drive stuff made me sad. I went to ford and traded it in on a f350 dually, dark shadow grey and black two tone. FX4, lariat. I think that will suffice. What do you think? I had been kicking myself in the *** for a while about not getting a 4x4, So i figured that while the 250 was still worth something, just trade it. I took a decent hit got 27500 for a 2003 with 16500 miles. I hope i enjoy. The 350 has all the bells and whistles long bed, 4 door, 6 disc, telescoping mirrors, fog lights etc. I pick it up tommorow
i'd stick with a big company that has a good repuation like skyjacker, superlift, fabtech, rcd, rancho.... some of the other companies out there are fly-by-night operations and have not been in the business long enough to trust.
I have to agree with Abendx. There are alot of shaddy lift companies out there. You might want to look at Donahoe Racing. We have been in Business for over 20 years (much longer then most of the companies he listed) and we have great 8",10.5" and 12.5" suspension systems for the superduties. We started building suspension systems for the guys on the street about 6 years ago. Before that all we did was build Off-road Racing suspension systems. We also sponsor this sight. Check out our stuff here http://www.donahoeracing.com/superduty_prod_ov.pdf
i made a major mistake, i have a 2wd version the largest i have seen is a 6"
Donahoe,
I don't think your company provides a 2wd suspension lift. Last time I spoke to one of your reps I was told that your company was not even considering a 2wd suspension lift. Maybe you can provide more light on the subject ...
